None Nuclear things position in Micronesia (Chuuk).

I know that 40 plus years ago most land owner in Micronesia do not let the US military to bring any military none nuclear stuffs on their land in Micronesia. What about today. Do you still believe that most land owner, especially in Chuuk, may feel the same? How far are the nuclear ship from Micronesia today?

  • Art. 8 Section 2 FSM Constitution:  Radioactive, toxic chemical, or other harmful substances may not be tested, stored, used, or disposed of within the jurisdiction of the Federated States of Micronesia without the express approval of the national government of the Federated States of Micronesia.

    Melvin, no can
  • The U.S. has not tested any nuclear weapon since 1992. It has not conducted any above ground tests, nor tests on foreign territory, since 1962.

The only U.S. "ships" now known to carry nuclear weapons are ballistic submarines.

How far away are they from Micronesia?

Their exact locations while underway are always secret. But we know that they visit Guam frequently.
  • “Radioactive, toxic chemical, or other harmful substances may not be tested, stored, used, or disposed of within the jurisdiction of the Federated States of Micronesia without the express approval of the national government of the Federated States of Micronesia.”

    Questions:

    1. This phrase referees to the dangerous stuffs.
I agree with those. What about the other
military supplies non dangerous items? Are
    they prohibited too?

    2. Its prohibited, “without the express approval
of the national government of the Federated
States of Micronesia.” What is this meant?

Is there not anything that can be place in our
    jurisdiction?

Think and look beyond the horizon and let us know and see what you find out there. If you see the nuclear sub. out there let us know. Unless you see none of any danger.
