COFA GOV LEADERS – WATCH OUT FOR US DEPT OF INTERIOR (DOI) SECRETARY RYAN ZINKE

TO OUR HONORABLE FSM CONGRESSMEN & FSM JEMCO COMMITTEE MEMBERS, PLEASE PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE CURRENT DOI SECRETARY RYAN ZINKE & HIS POLICIES REGARDING/CONCERNING OUR ISLANDS.

SECRETARY RYAN ZINKE IS NIKOLAO PULA’S BOSS - PULA, OUR CURRENT JEMCO CHAIRMAN & DIRECTOR OF THE OFFICE OF INSULAR AFFAIRS (OIA).

HERE ARE SOME RECENT NEWS ON DOI SECRETARY ZINKE:

• Former top Dept of Interior policy advisor, Joel Clement, in a fiercely critical letter of resignation early October 2017, charged both Trump and Zinke with poor leadership, waste, and failures on climate change issues. He accused President Trump and Zinke of being ““shackled to special interests such as oil, gas, and mining” and of being “unwilling to lead on climate change” and thus “[not] to be trusted”

• It was Zinke’s friend/neighbor’s two-person company that somehow got the $300 million contract to repair Puerto Rico’s electrical infrastructure after Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico. Fortunately, the Government of Puerto Rico cancelled the contract.

• As Secretary, Zinke has repeatedly used private charter planes, including a charter flight from Las Vegas to his Montana hometown on a plane owned by fossil fuel company executives, and charters between Caribbean islands ― all on routes where commercial flights were available.

• Zinke punitively reassigned many of his agency’s senior employees ― for example moving Interior’s chief climate policy expert to the royalty collection division; he also named only political appointees, including several ex-industry lobbyists, to a Department committee on personnel issues, ignoring that career staff are supposed to be part of the process.

• Zinke has proposed to the White House that several national monuments be dramatically shrunk and opened for mining and drilling.

• Zinke last month told an oil industry group that nearly one-third of Interior Department employees are not loyal to him and Trump. He might have been understating matters, depending on your definition of loyalty. Probably more than a third now think that Ryan Zinke is a disgrace.

Let's hope that Nikolao PUla, who is an islander, doesn't carry out Zinke's anti-climate, anti-environment policies or agenda

Comments

  • Zinke works for Trump, so of course he denies climate change.

Trump claims that all the evidence of global warming and sea level rise is just "fake news."

If Pula disobeys his boss Zinke, he'll just be fired.
  • Loyalty, gentlemen, is global. Nikolai has to abide by his boss's sets of rules or else Niclause Taro will take over the chairmanship.
  • Sinbad, heard DOI is now looking into the possibility of FSM-Russian collusion......
4 members of our Congressmen just came back from St. Petersburg, Russia....they better becareful......... that Secretary dude Ryan Zinke, is a former Navy Seal......a cowboy who actually rode a horse on the streets of Washington DC alongside US Park Police to his new DOI office on his first day of work as Secretary of DOI.
