Tulsi Gabbard: Far Left Socialist-Democrats Presidential Candidates Are Pushing For Open Borders

edited September 2019 in General
Tulsi is a Democrat Senator from Hawaii and a veteran of the Iraq War. She is the only moderate or should i say she is the only real liberal running for President on the Democrat ticket. The rest of the other candidates from her party are not Democrats but socialists all but in name. Tulsi is a center Democrat like Obama and Pelosi. The real liberals within the Democrat party.

When it comes to fixing the U.S. immigration system, one of the 2020 Democratic primary presidential hopefuls is calling out some of the other contenders for backing policies that are for “open borders.”

Several 2020 Democrats have claimed that “open borders” is a Republican talking point.

“I think it’s mischaracterizing the position of just about every Democrat to say that someone is open borders,” 2020 Democratic primary hopeful Andrew Yang previously told The Hill. “… The open borders attack to me is simply a mischaracterization, certainly of the point of view of most Democrats, I’ve heard them express.”

Additionally, former U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro said during the second Democratic debate that “open borders is a right-wing talking point.”

Although Democrats have pushed back that being for “open borders” is a Republican argument, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) — who didn’t qualify for the third primary debate on September 12 — is admitting that some of the 2020 Democrats seem to be actually for it.

During an interview on “The Rubin Report,” Gabbard put her foot down that she doesn’t support “open border” because “without secure borders, we don’t really have a country.”

On Democratic candidates claiming it’s only a conservative talking point, Gabbard said, “If you look at the practical implications of some of the things they’re pushing for, it is essentially open borders.”

" “If you want to advocate for, that’s fine. Stand on that, make that argument, and have your facts and your evidence to back it up. I don’t believe that’s smart. I think that our country needs secure borders, just like we need to reform our completely broken immigration system.”

Additionally, the 2020 primary Democrat said that the current U.S. immigration system “is not working for anybody.”

Several of the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates have expressed their support for decriminalizing illegal border entries, which is what some view as an “open borders” policy, as IJR reported.

Some of those who support decriminalizing crossing the border include Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). In contrast, former Vice President Joe Biden doesn’t support this.

Biden has made his position known as he previously said, “I think people should have to get in line, but if people are coming because they’re actually seeking asylum, they should have a chance to make their case.”
