The Trump administration delcared a emergency in Alaska today to free up millions of dollars and direct federal aid towards Native American communities throughout the Sate of Alaska. America First! Taking care of its people first and the homeland then the world second.

The following link discusses the emergency funding approved by the Department of Justice, a month after AG Barr visited Alaska. The US will provide about $10 million for law enforcement for the indigenous communities.
For comparison, $10 million is about what Herr Drumpf burns through in a couple of months of trips to his golf courses.

"America First! Taking care of its people first and the homeland then the world second. "
From the perspective of those of us from the Micronesian islands, this does not help Micronesia or the rest of the world in any way.
Trump could care less about anyone except himself, his business, and his family....and maybe his next wife. lol
How much of Chuuk Lagoon has reliable electrical power, and water and sewer systems?
The problems described by the Alaskan native people are no different than the problems faced by the North American native people who also need financial help. What are we doing for them?
As I said, $10 million is a band-aid when the problem demands $100 million. The fact that you believe it is "big money" is more an indication of your understanding of actual costs and the financial resources needed to meet them. Failure is the usual result when not enough resources are committed to the problem. General Shinseki said that in Congressional hearings when Congress was debating entry into the Iraq war. He was ridiculed. He was also right.
Regarding the link to the article in the original posting, one would assume that the article would link to the headline. If you want to find that article, I provided it.
10 million is big money. Democrats want to give billions to illegals. See how the party of different views. Democrats care more about those who are law breakers and are future voters while Republicans are into taking care of American and native Americans and legal migrants.
What have we got to lose with Trusting Trump? Nothing!!!! We have lost more than pinning our hopes on Obama who did not a single thing for us and his own black people.
We are discussing this matter because the Indian reservations and people are under the oversight of the Department of the Interior--similar to us in the FAS countries. And as noted by other posters here, it's good to see that the US Government is spending money to help its people; unlike my favorite state of California whose leadership is planning to spend over $100 million for health care services for illegals while the streets in San Francisco and Los Angeles are full of homeless American citizens, US veterans and other American citizens who have fallen between the cracks. I am glad to see that the US federal government is paying attention to its US citizens and supporting the Homeland. It's putting its priority on people that the US government is responsible for.
So if you are genuinely concerned about the welfare of veterans living in California, address your concerns directly to President Trump, not to the State of California.
And who exactly are these "illegals" you think should not be eligible for basic health services? Do you mean the innocent men, women and children fleeing intolerable conditions in their own countries who have been denied refuge and asylum by the U.S. federal government?
God bless the State of California for treating these desperately poor people as human beings who are loved by God, not like animals to be arrested and put in cages, as the Trump administration treats them.
Trump is all about putting Americans first and legal migrants. Those who put in into the system not those who come here unlawfully and take advantage of it.
The VA is not Trumps problem. Trump is against a system like the VA, where the federal government has control of the medical care. The VA is a example of why government should stay out of medical care. Free medical for all is what Democrats want. Look at the VA and think about it for a second. Its the same thing. If the VA can't even take care of its own what make you think medical for all will? Both means goverment control of medical care.
Trump can solve this in a heartbeat but Democrats won't let him have a go. Because they know he will break down government control and make it better.
By the way, Trump has improved the VA system by removing employment protections for VA employees making employees more effective and accountable, and by allowing veterans to seek care in the private sector whenever the VA hospitals can't provide them with the care they need. I think Trump is using simple business strategies to fix government problems.
I'm actually for some of these programs these Democrats are for but first we must take care of our own, homeless and vets and our roads and our people. When thats all said and done then we can actually think about medical for all. For all i mean all Americans and legal migrants not illegals.
@z, When All the Democrat presidential candidates all raised their hands to give free medical care to illegal migrants is the moment Trump won 2020.
Compared to the 35 countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which promotes policies to improve social and economic well-being, the U.S. life expectancy of 78.8 years ranks 27th.
The U.S. has the fourth worst infant mortality rate in the OECD, the sixth worst maternal mortality rate, and the ninth worst likelihood of dying at a younger age from a host of illnesses, including heart disease and cancer.
Unlike other countries in the OECD, the U.S. mostly relies on voluntary health insurance to fund health-care costs. Public health insurance, such as Medicare and Medicaid, accounts for 27 percent of coverage. By contrast, the 10 countries with the highest life expectancy depend on voluntary insurance for an average of less than 6 percent of their costs, and government spending for nearly half.
A Medicare-for-All system would save money by reducing administrative costs by $500 billion per year and allowing the government to negotiate for more affordable medicines.
Such a system would be paid for using a progressive funding mechanism so that higher-income earners would pay a greater percentage of their income than moderate or low-income earners.
Medicare-for-All would cost patients less than employer-sponsored insurance and improve access to community-based services, including home health care.
Under Medicare-for-All, there would not be increased doctor wait times, in part because improved financial incentives for providers would mean better prioritization of care, leading to improved access and a reduction of unnecessary costs.
Every person in this system would freely choose their own doctor, clinic, and hospital, and would not be limited to a " provider network" as in the current U.S. for-profit health care insurance system.
Think about it.
‘Tax the 1 per cent more’: US billionaires push for wealth tax to address climate change, health care and more
A group of billionaires – including Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes – want US presidential candidates to put higher taxes on the 1 per cent.
They said the need for a wealth tax had broad bipartisan support, and ‘some ideas are too important for America to be part of only a few candidates’ platforms.'
“Tax us more!” was the message on Monday from about 20 super-wealthy Americans who urged presidential candidates to back higher taxes on the wealthiest to confront climate change and other priorities.
“We are writing to call on all candidates for president, whether they are Republicans or Democrats, to support a moderate wealth tax on the fortunes of the richest one-tenth of the richest 1 per cent of Americans – on us,” according to a letter signed by 19 individuals – one anonymously – and posted online on Monday.
“The next dollar of new tax revenue should come from the most financially fortunate, not from middle-income and lower-income Americans,” said the letter by the billionaires, which included George Soros, Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes, descendants of Walt Disney and the owners of the Hyatt hotel chain.
“A wealth tax could help address the climate crisis, improve the economy, improve health outcomes, fairly create opportunity, and strengthen our democratic freedoms. Instituting a wealth tax is in the interest of our republic.”
Signers pointed out that fellow billionaire Warren Buffett has said he is taxed at a lower rate than his secretary.

The majority of Americans want the freedom to enroll in Medicare no matter what age they are....and they know that Medicare does NOT provide "free health care."
Every person currently on Medicare has paid payroll (FICA) taxes on their hard-earned monthly income for at least 10 years. Most have paid this tax for 40 years or more.
And everyone enrolled in Medicare Part B must pay a monthly premium of at least $135.
Finally, Medicare pays only 80% of your medical expenses. Each patient pays the other 20% from his or her own pocket.
Medicare is not "free."
Business and commerce is the lifeblood of any nation. And its the entrepreneurs who give life into business and commerce. Switzerland tried taxing its businesses and entrepreneurs to fund its socialized programs. The same things the Democrats are doing now. What happened? Capital investments to Switzerland trickled and businesses shut and ran away. People took their money abroad and out of Switzerland. The Switzs have learned that lesson but somehow the Democrats think they can do better where the switz have failed.
Taxing the rich won't solve climate change. Taxing the rich to pay for free healthcare won't solve that problem too.
"A wealth tax could help address the climate crisis, improve the economy, improve health outcomes, fairly create opportunity, and strengthen our democratic freedoms. Instituting a wealth tax is in the interest of our republic."
This stupid comment above is straight out of the pages of the Green deal which we all know is a failure. A failure to a point where no Democrats voted for to pass in the Senate a few months back.
Sound familiar doesn't it? Its the same shit the Nazi's in Germany did minus giving free healthcare to illegals. Its the same shit the Communists in Russia did minus giving free healthcare to Illegals. It's the same shit the Venezuelans did minus giving healthcare to illegals.
We are living in scary times folks. Socialism will arrive in America all in the guise of Liberalism.
In short, I would say the Federal Government--if it goes thru with a decision to assist the homeless US citizens in these 2 cities in a Sanctuary state--has its priority in the right order: US citizens first, including all legal immigrants; and then, other temporary residences, etc. I am looking forward to being able to drive thru these big cities when I visit my favorite state of California--without having to deal with the homeless people on the streets. I hope so. We'll see.
I look for concrete actions, not blustery promises.
I hear the 4th circuit court of appeal has been dipped into a conservative majority. And the 9th circuit court is going the same way pretty soon. Almost 100 judges That Trump has nominated have been confirmed to their positions. All life time positions and all judges all he nominated have the same views as TRUMP regarding life, taxes, and limited government control.
The travel ban is being enforced. The economy is booming. Jobs are coming back. GDP is up, unemployment is at a all time 30 years low. Military being rebuild. Trade deals have been renegotiated with Canada, Mexico and the EU.
He has delivered on most of his key promises. That is why i am voting for him again and that is why he will no doubt win again in 2020.
Lets keep America Great. And keep the fake news where they are in Liberal heads.
Trump could be the most honest president in modern history
Donald Trump may be remembered as the most honest president in modern American history. Don’t get me wrong, Trump lies all the time. He said that he “enacted the biggest tax cuts and reforms in American history” (actually they are the eighth-largest) and that “our economy is the strongest it’s ever been in the history of our country” (which may one day be true, but not yet). In part, it’s a New York thing — everything is the biggest and the best.
But when it comes to the real barometer of presidential truthfulness — keeping his promises — Trump is a paragon of honesty. For better or worse, since taking office, Trump has done exactly what he promised he would do.
